IIN Accompaniment Group: Support for families with a detained or deported member
The Accompaniment Work Group of the Interfaith Immigration Network has initiated a new program that provides support to families with a detained or deported member. Families who have a parent/primary breadwinner detained or deported are particularly vulnerable. The emotional toll and needs of families facing this heartbreaking scenario are many, including the physical needs of housing, food, and legal advice. The Accompaniment Work Group will help connect these families to local resources and provide financial assistance as is available.
The Denver Presbytery, through its mission partnership Journey with Migrants, serves as the steward of funds collected to support this program. We invite you to consider making a personal donation to this fund and to share this opportunity with your faith community so others may also extend support.
Donations may be made by check or online through the Denver Presbytery website, following the instructions provided below.

For information on writing to people in detention, go to the Casa de Paz website at https://www.casadepazcolorado.org/cartas-de-paz. Colorado Housing Asylum Network
The Colorado Housing Asylum Network (CHAN) supports asylum seekers by placing asylum seekers with volunteer teams to accompany them as they journey through their legal process. This includes hosting our guests in private homes, financially and materially providing for their initial needs until they receive their work permit, connecting them with the larger community and its resources, and emotionally supporting them as they work through their past and look to their future. CHAN is not currently accepting new asylum seekers for placement but is accepting volunteers. See the CHAN website at https://www.hostingasylum.org/
